Gary Helmick Hitting/Fielding Instructor

 Gary played High School baseball under the healm of B.A.T.T Academy owner Larry Williams for the Northeast Eagles. He received All County and All-State honors while at Northeast. After a successful High School career he then received a scholarship to play for Towson University. While at Towson, from 2005-2009, Helmick was an All-American and All-Conference shortstop his senior year while breaking five school records. Shortly after his senior season, Dean Albany and the Baltimore Orioles signed him to a contract. This past summer, Helmick began his minor league career with the Bluefield Orioles. He had a very productive season while posting a .276 batting average with 31 runs, 10 doubles, 4 triples, and 4 homeruns. At the end of his first season with the Orioles he was called up to the single A Delmarva Shorebirds to finish the season.  Hometown
