Anthony Williams enters his first year as head coach at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg.
Aside from being the Bobcats new head coach, Williams currently works in the Video and Advanced Scouting department for the Pittsburgh Pirates where he is responsible for assisting with preparing advanced scouting reports and video for the Pirates Major League Affiliate. In the off-season he continues to serve as an Advisor and Instructor at the BATT Academy, while also serving on the Board of Directors.
Most recently at the collegiate level, Williams was an Assistant Baseball Coach at NCAA Division I UMBC, where he worked primarily with hitters and infielders while also specializing in base running and speed/agility.
During the two previous seasons, Williams was the top Assistant Baseball Coach at NCAA Division III Frostburg State University. Williams served as the recruiting coordinator and 1st base coach, while also specializing in hitting and infield play. In 2010, he helped lead Frostburg to a 32-13 record, 2nd most wins in school history, en route to a Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference regular season championship.
Prior to Frostburg State Williams worked in Sponsorships and Marketing with the Bowie Baysox “AA” affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles and the Baseball Factory, a recruiting service for high school players.
Williams played collegiate baseball at NCAA Division II Slippery Rock University (PA) and also played four seasons in the Eddie Brooks League with the Maryland Hurricanes.
A native of Pasadena, Maryland Williams was a 2003 All-State selection and graduate of Northeast High School, where he helped lead the Eagles baseball team to the 3A Maryland State Championship in 2001.
Williams earned his MBA from Frostburg State University and holds a BS in Sport Management from Slippery Rock University.
