Winnipeg Goldeyes Signs Pitcher at BATT Academy

On Sunday December 27th, Winnipeg Goldeyes Field manager Rick Forney came to the BATT Academy to evaluate recent Flagler College Graduate, Austin Donmoyer of Pine Grove, PA. Upon the completion of Donmoyers bullpen, Forney and the left-handed Donmoyer agreed to terms. Donmoyer signed his contract with the Goldeyes while sitting here at the BATT Academy! Congratulations Austin!!!

Well, as I sit here in day 3 of my Jury Duty waiting to be called into the courtroom, I thought I might as well put up our final World Series Update of 2009. I know that many, and I mean many of our members are Yankee fans. I have noticed one thing about these Yankee fans in our facility that seems to be a constant in all of them….. you guys are Yankee die-hards! Serious fans, through and through!

So for all of our BATT Academy and Athletic Edge Yankee fans, CONGRATULATIONS on winning your 27th Fall Classic. For all you Yankee-haters, that seems to be the rest of us ; ) there’s always next year!

Now, we start the countdown to spring training!

Highlights

The clinic will feature the ProMirror Video Training System, which is a slow-motion, touch-screen swing analysis used by a number of major league teams including the New York Yankees. Each player will have their swings recorded and will be given one-on-one instructions while reviewing the slow motion video analysis system. Players will then be directed to specific hitting stations to work on and improve upon the fundamental skills.

Costs

The cost for the skills, drills and slow-motion video analysis session is $85 per player.

This is just a reminder that we have only a few spots left in our upcoming speed classes, both SAS and VERTIMAX! This is your chance to develop explosive speed, improve your agilities and your strength. These classes teach our students proper running form and mechanics as well as dynamic stretching techniques. For more information on how we use it for our baseball athletes, check out our Baseball Vertimax Video. Don’t miss out on this opportunity as these classes fill up quick! Athletic Edge offers the intense yet productive sports specific training of VERTIMAX. VERTIMAX training is the fastest way for athletes to improve 60 yard dash times, vertical leap, and overall first step explosiveness.

SAS Speed Classes

Our SAS program is a sport specific program built specifically to the athlete’s sport to develop speed, muscle memory, and overall athleticism. SAS Training is Plyometrics combined with speed and agility training to help develop fast twitch muscle fiber to increase overall footwork and athleticism. These classes will also teach the proper running form and mechanics to prepare the athlete for VERTIMAX training.
